Take Back the Night was held Tuesday, October 6, 2009, in Ville Platte.

The 2009 Evangeline Parish 4-H Rice and Sugar Cookery Contests will be held Monday, November 23, 2009, at noon at the Sacred Heart Elementary School gym.

Fifty-eight dishes were entered in the Ground Beef and Seafood Contests which are sponsored by Jack Miller's Food Products, the Louisiana Cotton Festival Association and the Evangeline Parish 4-H Foundation.
