The 2007 4-H Cotton Food Festival got off to a great start at the Thirteenth Annual Cotton Festival 4-H Cotton Commodity Cookery and Ambassador Contest held Wednesday afternoon at the Ville Platte Civic Center. Sixty-one dishes were entered in the Ground Beef, Seafood and Sweet Potato Cookery Contests which are sponsored by E & L Produce, the Louisiana Cotton Festival Association, and the Evangeline Parish 4-H Foundation.

Winners will represent Evangeline Parish in the Area 4-H Cookery Contests to be held in Alexandria in April of 2008. The Ambassador Winner will represent the parish in the state Ambassador Contest in Baton Rouge in April of 2008. Other winners in the Beef Cookery categories were:
