March 2008 4-H'er of the month is Ranessa Potier

Ranessa Arein Potier, 17, is a senior at Baton Rouge Magnet High School. She is the youngest daughter of Miles and Ardell Potier and has two sisters. She adores her beautiful, loving family.

Ranessa has been participating in the East Baton Rouge Parish Jr. Leader Club (Delta IV) for the past three years. She visits Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital, where she serves as a team manager, which requires her to plan all the team’s visits and contact all team members to encourage them to attend their visitation time at the hospital.

In addition, Ranessa has aided in many successful visits to the Sterling Place Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center. Ranessa has also participated in many other community service-learning projects throughout EBR Parish.

Ranessa truly is a model 4-H member. She is an outstanding role model for younger 4-H members, and, for that reason, she was chosen to attend 4-H Camp as a counselor. In addition, Ranessa also has attended the state 4-H Jr. Leadership Conference and 4-H University in 2006 and 2007.

In addition to being a member of 4-H, Ranessa participates in many extracurricular activities at her church and at school. What is most impressive about Ranessa is her ability to manage all her extracurricular activities and still maintain a 3.3 GPA. Ranessa is a young lady of great character. She is a respectful individual that strives to make the right decisions. She is very appreciative and honored to have been chosen as the East Baton Rouge Parish 4-H'er of the Month for March 2008.
