Welcome to the Assumption Parish Family Nutrition page. The goal of the Family Nutrition Program (FNP) is "to improve the likelihood that FNP participants (adult and youth) will adopt healthy food choices within a limited budget and incorporate active lifestyles and habits that promote good health."
FNP staff members focus their educational efforts on three key behavioral outcomes from clients:
1. Eat fruits and vegetables, whole grains and nonfat or low-fat milk or milk products every day.
2. Be physically active every day as part of a healthy lifestyle.
3. Balance calorie intake from foods and beverages with calories expended.
