During the Easter Holidays eighteen 7th and 8th grade 4-Hers club members of Ascension Parish were geared up and ready to take on the Centennial Challenge at the 2008 camp in Pollock, Louisiana.

Teen leaders from Ascension parish along with other Jr. Leaders from surrounding parishes assisted with the pledge drive for LPB during the showing of the 4-H Documentary on Wednesday March 12th.

Topics covered include: Calendar of events, 4-H Shooting Sports, 4-H University, Horse Tales, Achievement Day, 4-H Day at the Capitol, 4-H LSU Football Game and Tailgate, 4-H Summer Camp, Fundraising, and 4-H Youth Garden Contest.

Ascension Parish 4-H Shooting Sports is making final preparations for the upcoming Regional meet.

4-H University is open to 4-Hers 13 and older.

The contest is open to all 4-H members. The Beef and Dairy Poster contest is held as an educational awareness campaign. Posters created by 4-H’ers display the use of beef and dairy products for healthy living.

Ascension Parish 4-H Junior Leader Club members initiate a book drive and learn about literacy, the impact of literacy and how to determine reading levels of books.
