Audubon Sugar Institute offers an education program of internationally recognized, non-degree short courses in various aspects of sugar technology and engineering.

The research program at the Institute concentrates on new technology development that can be adopted by the cane sugar processing industry, ranging from simple technological developments to major initiatives such as directly producing refined sugar and utilizing lignocellulosic wastes.

Extension is a non-formal educational program designed to help processors use research-based knowledge to improve their lives. Extension faculty provides assistance to the Louisiana sugar industry in a variety of areas from cane quality and processing to standardizing lab procedures and regulatory compliance..

To foster a center of excellence for applied and original sugar research which exceeds the expectations of our stakeholders in Louisiana and the international sugar industry, through innovative research, technology transfer and education.
