Louisiana Master Gardener Program The Louisiana Master Gardener program is a service and educational activity offered by the LSU AgCenter. The program is designed to recruit and train volunteers to help meet the educational needs of home gardeners while providing an enjoyable and worthwhile service experience for volunteers. |
History The Louisiana Master Gardenerâ„¢ program was started in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in 1994 as a means of extending the educational outreach of the LSU AgCenter, Louisiana Cooperative Extension Service. |

Master Gardener Application 2013 Training: July 30 through September 24. Classes will be held Tuesday & Thursday mornings from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. in the New Orleans Botanical Garden Study Center located in City Park. Field trips will require additonal time and travel to and from Hammond and Baton Rouge, La. |
Become a Louisiana Master Gardener Any Louisiana resident with an interest in horticulture and a desire to volunteer for community service may apply to the Master Gardener training program. |
