World of Gardening Lecture Series

The Northwest Louisiana Master Gardeners, as part of their commitment to educating the public in good gardening practices and the joys of gardening, sponsors quarterly lectures on a variety of subjects. The program is open to the public and free of charge, but pre-registration is requested. Email registration is preferred

Barnwell Memorial Garden & Arts Center

Aubrey King, nursery owner since 1988, is known to many Master Gardeners as their good friend and guru on what native plants to grow in Shreveport. He will open the 2012 World of Gardening events with a presentation describing what plants will thrive in the wretched weather we have endured in recent months.

King took over his father’s nursery in Tenaha, Texas, and says he frequently has customers driving from Shreveport. He raises most of his plants from seeds and cuttings.
