Le Tour des Jardins 2010

Flowers by the stream
Spring is in the air, flowers are beginning to bloom, and the NWLA Master Gardeners are working hard to make this year’s Le Tour des Jardins (The Tour of Gardens) the best ever.  The dates chosen for this year are April 24 and 25.

The choice of gardens this year continue to educate the public in good gardening practices and to showcase “do-able” landscaping ideas for our geographical area.

The five gardens in this year’s tour provide something for everyone’s taste. Back by popular demand is the professionally landscaped garden,  a contemporary garden with waterfall and modern outdoor kitchen, a Southern-style garden, a garden that can be described as an arboretum and a rustic, cottage-style garden. In addition to the gardens on tour, the Pioneer Heritage Center garden at LSU will be hosting a plant and herb sale. There will be many vendors with hard-to-find plants, garden décor, garden-related items and artists selling garden-related art that can’t be found in stores.

Tickets for Le Tour des Jardin will go on sale March 1, 2010, with a cost of  $10 in advance from any Master Gardener, at all Citizens National Banks or at the NWLA Master Gardener Office located in the Carriage House at the Randle T Moore Center at 3101 Fairfield Ave., Shreveport, La.  Tickets also may be purchased for $12 at any of the gardens during the tour.
