La-Terre Master Gardener Awards
Due to the 2008 hurricanes, the La-Terre Master Gardeners Awards Ceremony was canceled. At our general meeting on November 11, 2008, the awards certificates were given out to those who met the awards criteria.
La-Terre completed a record number of educational and volunteer hours for our calendar year of 6/1/2007 through 5/31/2008. Educational hours completed were 1613 and volunteer hours completed were 4011.
The Outstanding Master Gardener of the Year award was given to 2007 graduate Earline Theriot for her dedication to the Master Gardener program. Mrs. Theriot also did an excellent job as chairperson of our annual Bonne Terre Garden Fair.
The Master Gardener who completed the most education hours was Mary Samaha with 87.0 hours. The Master Gardener who completed the most volunteer hours was Cheryl Skinner with 275.5 hours.
