EFNEP - Objectives and Indicators

Program Objective:

Nutrition, Diet and Health – Families and individuals to follow the recommended dietary and physical fitness guidelines and to adopt preventive health practices to achieve a healthy life span.

Teaching Objective:

EFNEP families to acquire the knowledge, skills, attitudes and changed behavior necessary for nutritionally sound diets and to contribute to their personal development.

Indicator 1:

  • Total number of EFNEP families who participated in programs to improve diet
  • Percentage of those families who actually improved their diets
Indicator 2:
  • Total number of EFNEP families who participated in programs to increase their knowledge of the essentials of human nutrition
  • Percentage of those families who actually increased their knowledge
Indicator 3:
  • Total number of EFNEP families who participated in programs to increase their ability to select and buy food that satisfies nutritional needs
  • Percentage of those families who actually improved food selection
Indicator 4:
  • Total number of EFNEP families who participated in programs to improve practices in food production, food preparation, storage, safety and sanitation
  • Percentage of those families who improved practices

  • Number of EFNEP youth who participated in programs to eat a variety of foods
  • Percentage of those youth who actually eat a variety of foods
Indicator 2:
  • Number of EFNEP youth who participated in programs to increase their knowledge of the essentials of human nutrition
  • Percentage of those youth who actually increased their knowledge
Indicator 3:
  • Total number of EFNEP youth who participated in programs to increase their ability to select low-cost, nutritious foods
  • Percentage of those youth who actually improved food selection

Program Objective:

Teaching Objective:

EFNEP state program will increase interagency cooperation.

Indicator 1:

  • The number of WIC offices within EFNEP communities
  • Percent whose clients are served by EFNEP
Indicator 2:
  • Number of Food Stamp offices within EFNEP communities
  • Percent whose clients are served by EFNEP
Indicator 3:
  • Number of formal agreements and/or coalitions with public or private organizations providing assistance to limited resource audiences
Indicator 4:
  • The amount of money (in dollars) obtained by grants, contributions or other sources to supplement federal EFNEP allocations
