LaHouse Hands-On Seminar and Interiors Technical Tour - Dec. 20

at LaHouse showcase of solutions.

Course Information:
Examine first hand and learn about the many elements of LaHouse Resource Center's showcase of solutions designed to demonstrate a range of research-based ways to integrate five benefits - resource-efficient, durable, healthy, convenient and practical - to achieve sustainable, high performance buildings in our warm, humid climate.

LaHouse was built using four different building system technologies; 10 types of windows and doors; three HVAC systems; and, different finish materials, furnishings and decor in each room with green, healthy and durable attributes.

The program will include a seminar presentation and a technical tour by LaHouse experts of its cut-aways, exhibits and materials. Content will be tailored for Interior Designers as well as home designers and builders, with a focus upon indoor air quality measures, residential universal design features, interior construction methods and products for a healthy indoor environment and energy efficiency.

Course Date and Time:
December 20, 2012.  Registration and coffee from 9:00-9:30 a.m. in the LaHouse Teaching Center. Program will begin at 9:30 a.m. and conclude at 3:30 p.m., with a one-hour lunch break (on your own).

Who should attend:
Professional interior designers, design students and faculty, residential contractors, remodelers, professional decorators, home designers, home inspectors and residential/light commercial product suppliers.

Continuing Education Credits:
A personalized certificate of completion will be issued to all attendees who complete the seminar and technical tour. The certificate and agenda to be provided may be used to request continuing education credit for various professions who recognize LaHouse or LSU seminars. This course has been pre-approved for continuing education hours for the following professionals.

  • Louisiana Interior Designers (5 HS hours via LSBID)
  • Louisiana residential contractors (request LSLBC form for 5 CUEs)
