LaHouse on the Move

Moving and evolving with LSU’s campus master planning process over the last year, the third and final Louisiana House location, master site plan and house design were officially approved by the LSU Board of Supervisors in April 2002. Board members praised the plans and project as a fitting and beneficial addition to the campus.

“Even though the project’s original timeline and process were extended, each move and redesign also brought new benefits and opportunities,” said Claudette Reichel, LaHouse project chair and LSU AgCenter housing specialist. “The facility and what it can achieve have expanded. The vision is strengthened.”

Since LaHouse “took off the wheels” (a recurring jest during the process), the initiative has been moving ahead rapidly. The house construction plans were developed, teams re-engaged and a capital campaign was launched.
