Description:
Uncle Sam and the state of Louisiana have encouraged taxpayers to invest in home improvements that use renewable sources of energy and make the home more energy efficient. Recent Federal legislation extends the 2006-2008 credits to include 2009 and 2010 and amends the Federal Energy Act of 2005. These one-time tax credits still apply only to improvements to the taxpayer’s primary residence (not rental property). (Editor's Note: Stuart Broussard contributed to this report.)
