September Mini Seminars at Rebuilding Information Station

A series of mini seminars has been scheduled for September at the Rebuilding Information Station (RIS) in New Orleans

The RIS is located in the Center for Energy Resource Management Building at the UNO Research and Technology Park at 2045 Lakeshore Drive, Suite 103. It is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.

Seminars will be conducted in September on the following dates:

Tuesday Mini Seminars
4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and
6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

  • Sept 2: “Window & Door Protection”

Dan Gill, professor of horticulture, LSU AgCenter

  • Sept 16: “Termites in Louisiana Homes”

Alan Morgan, professor of entomology, LSU AgCenter

  • Sept 23: “Keep the Water Out: Window & Door Flashing”

Bill Robinson, extension associate, LSU AgCenter

  • Sept 30: “Dry & Durable Walls: Rebuilding Tips for Homeowners”

Thursday Mini Seminars
4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and
6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

  • Sept 11: “Residential Construction Issues in New Orleans”

Mike Folse, associate professor of Civil Engineering, UNO, professional engineer

  • Sept 24: “Photovoltaic and Solar Water Heating Systems”

Zach Embry, renewable energy permitting specialist, City of New Orleans

Saturday Mini-Seminar
10:30 a.m. to noon
