Lafitte Terrace Planting

On August 4th, 2007, two AWCC volunteers, Jacob Bourgeois and Tracy Cochran, along with a fabulous group of volunteers gathered in Lafitte, La., to help plant marsh grass on newly constrcted terraces. By planting the plugs of marsh grass, the terraces will now be protected from wind and wave erosion, and as the grass spreads out along the terraces, new wetland habitat will be created for a variety of fish and wildlife.

Below are some pictures of the volunteers hard at work. Thank you again for all your help that day to help restore Louisiana's wetlands!
