On February 15, 2009, AWCC Members participated in helping the Youth Wetlands Week Program by assembling supply boxes for teachers throughout the state of Louisiana. Youth Wetlands Week is a wetland education outreach program that provides wetland-based curriculum and teaching supplies free of charge to teachers in grades four through 12.
Over 50,000 students participate in YWW each year, and some teachers even incorporate restoration projects into the week. Teaching Louisiana’s youth about our vital coastline is essential for its future, and AWCC members are always willing to help.
