Spend Martin Luther King Day Giving Back!

Volunteer to help the AWCC install Wood Duck Boxes
in Lincoln Parish!

Many wood duck natural habitats have been destroyed through process of building and also by storms. In honor of Martin Luther King Day and his strong belief in community service, the America’s Wetland Conservation Corps and Methodist Children’s Home are having a restoration project by installing wood duck boxes that have been built by Dubach High School agri-science students, with predator guards built by Louisiana Technical College, and with the help of the environmental club of Methodist Children’s Home.

The AWCC is looking for volunteers to help with this project.

These wood duck boxes will help the wood ducks by giving them a safe place to nest and helping restore a habitat for them where they can be observed in the Outdoor Wilderness Learning Center at the Arboretum.

What to Bring:  We will have water and drinks provided; however, please plan to bring a snack or sack lunch.  Also, please bring gloves and dress to go out rain or shine in clothes that can get dirty.
