Louisiana Biofuels & Bioprocessing (LIBBi) Summit
The Louisiana Institute for Biofuels & Bioprocessing (LIBBi) is hosting a conference called LIBBi Summit. The objective of the Summit is to strengthen Louisiana’s agricultural industries and provide a vision for enhancing our state’s profile in emerging biofuels and bioprocessing area. Our overall goal would be for participants to understand what Louisiana can offer in terms of feedstock, scientific research, labor and other resources along with State government incentives.

Hydrothermal (HT) Processing of Plant Biomass for Petrochemical and Bioenergy Products
Research to date has demonstrated the technical applicability of HT processing for a wide range of plant biomass types, including invasive plant species and preservative-treated wood waste, both of which have little or no economic value and represent an environmental and ecological problem. This paper will summarize our results using various plant feedstocks for HT treatment with respect to hydrocarbon yields, chemical composition of semi-volatile mixtures and volume reduction.
LIBBi Board Members
The board members for Louisiana Institue for Biofuels and Bioproducts (LIBBi) comprise stakeholders and experts in the field with an arms-length relation to the project participants. The board members provide a global view on the overall impact of the different projects and help to provide regular guidance to the project director.
