Ducksalad (Heteranthera limosa) is a common aquatic weed in rice fields. It can be controlled when young, but is difficult to manage when full grown.

In the juvenile stages, ducksalad and roundleaf mud plantain are difficult to separate. In larger plants, the leaf shape of ducksalad is more elongate and not cleft as much at the base as roundleaf mud plantain.
