Management Practices
- No scouting is possible since disease does not appear until heading and control is ineffective after this stage.
- Excessive nitrogen increases diseases.
- Some varieties have resistance.
- Boot applications of certain fungicides reduce disease.
- Planting early allows rice to escape infection.
