Low cotton acreage threatens rural economies

(Radio News 05/12/08) It will be at least another year before cotton acreage rebounds in Louisiana. Acreage is expected to be around 280,000 this year – a 40,000 acre drop from last year’s numbers, which already were historically low, says LSU AgCenter cotton specialist Dr. Sandy Stewart.
