Biography Matthew Stephens has been the County Agent in Jackson Parish since July, 2009. His responsibility includes Agriculture and Natural Resources educational programs and also assists parents and leaders with the 4-H livestock program in Jackson Parish. Matthew’s 20 years of experience consists of 4-H Club Agent in Morehouse and Ouachita Parishes, County Agent in Union Parish and Area Agent/Nutrient Management for the Northwest and North Central Regions. His expertise in forage crops, livestock management and nutrient management is beneficial to the agricultural communities of Jackson Parish.
Matthew, a Franklin Parish native, is married to Cynthia Stephens and has one daughter, Darby. He also produces cattle, hay and trains horses in his spare time. Matthew’s love for agriculture is apparent as he conducts educational programs, 4-H Livestock clinics and seminars throughout the parishes of North Louisiana and judges Livestock show throughout the southern part of the United States. |
