Education

2001 - Ph.D., Vocational Education, Louisiana State University. Course work included leadership and organizations, teaching methods and adult education.

1990 - Diploma (Master's-level work), Command & General Staff College, United States Army. Course work included leadership, command principles and tactical as well as strategic planning.

1982 - Master's in Agriculture, Agricultural & Extension Education, University of Florida. Course work included extension program development, planned change and several science courses, such as entomology, soil science and mechanical engineering.

1976 - B.S. in Agriculture, Animal Science, University of Florida. Course work included basic animal sciences (beef, poultry, dairy) and pre-veterinary curriculum.

Experience

2007 to Present – County Agricultural Agent, LSU AgCenter, East Feliciana Parish/West Feliciana Parish Jr. Livestock. Management of county-level 4-H youth program (East Feliciana) to include program development, supervision of 200+ volunteers and promotion of activities that contribute to the positive development of 700+ parish youth.

1982 to 2007 - Assistant, Associate, and full County Agricultural Agent, LSU AgCenter, East Feliciana parish and West Feliciana parish (1986-2007). Management of two, county-level 4-H youth programs to include program development, supervision of 400+ volunteers and promotion of activities that contribute to the positive development of 700+ youth.

Professional Activities and Associations

Member of the LSU AgCenter’s 4-H Strategic Planning Committee, the Workforce Preparation Initiative Implementation Team, the ATV Safety Program Committee and past member of the School Enrichment Curriculum Development Committee. Member of Louisiana Association of Extension 4-H Agents, the Association of Leadership Educators, the East Feliciana Parish 5th Day Planning Team. Past member of EPYC, East Feliciana Parish Youth Collaborative.
