Vermilion parish youth uses YouTube to promote 4-H
Members of the Science, Engineering and Technology(SET) leadership board work hard not just on a state level but also in their local communities to promote their parish 4-H program along with science, engineering and technology related activities. Austin Gaspard, a second year member of the State SET Board, makes weekly videos about something happening in his parish. The video series is called "This Week in Vermilion 4-H." Austin video tapes the event, edits the video and posts the videos to YouTube and his parish 4-H Facebook page. These videos let youth in his parish know about all of the opportunities and projects 4-H has to offer. Austin's videos include subjects such as the fishing clinic, clay shoot, great american seafood cook-off and environmental ambassadors.
