4-H Science, Engineering and Technology (SET) Board

The Science, Engineering and Technology (SET) Board is a youth leadership opportunity with Louisiana 4-H. Members of the state 4-H SET Board serve to help promote projects on a parish, regional and state level that are SET-related. They develop and conduct educational programs for the Louisiana Outdoor Science and Technology (LOST) camp and the Operation Military Kids (OMK) SET Camp. Each member completes a parish project to expose local youth to SET-related activities. Board members are very busy throughout the year attending regional and state leadership events and working together to raise awareness of SET in Louisiana youth.

SET Board members meet multiple times a year for team building, board planning and service-learning, and to learn more about SET-related career opportunities.

Members must be enrolled in grades 9-12 and must be a Louisiana 4-H member. SET-related 4-H projects include aerospace, electricity, photography, environment, pet care, horticulture, health, foods and nutrition, insects/entomology, machines, outdoor skills, livestock, vet science, plant science, dog care, wetlands and communications.
