The Science, Engineering and Technology Board is a youth leadership opportunity. Members of the SET board serve to help promote projects that are SET-related, develop and promote educational programs for Louisiana Outdoor Science and Technology camp, provide technical assistance at 4-H events and promote parish SET teams.
Members must be enrolled in grades 9-12 and must be enrolled in a SET-related project. These include: aerospace, electricity, photography, environment, pet care, horticulture, health, foods and nutrition, insects/entomology, machines, outdoor skills, livestock, vet science, plant science, dog care and communications.

2011-2012 Board Introduction
Welcome to a new year of SET fun. This year the board split up into three regions. Each region has amazing board members with varied interests in Science, Engineering, and Technology.
Region one is home to eight of the twenty- four members of the board. Regional representative Rachel Dickson is an aspiring biomedical engineer with an interest in technology. She will be working with members in her region to make this year a success. Also interested in technology, is Peyton Arthur. He loves to fish, and wants to be a pharmacist. The scientists from this region are Henry Andrews and Mikayla Burns. Henry is a future cook who is always looking for an excuse to learn more about kitchen science. Mikayla on the other hand is an animal loving future vet. Also in this region, are Wade Morison and Gerald Ducote. Wade loves engineering and aspires to be a petroleum engineer. This region is also home to two people lovers. Tiffany Barnhart is always up for teaching younger kids, and wants to be a marine biologist. Sydney Murray hopse to be a plastic surgeon. She wants to bring as much as she can back to her parish to teach others and inspire their interest in SET.
Hosting eight of the twenty four members, region two is sure to excite. Nina Hoffpauir is an aspiring forensic scientist and people person. She loves working with others, meeting new people, and rocking out in band. This year she will be working with the members in her region as regional representative. This region hosts many science lovers. Both Jordan Vidrine and Lexie Petticrew aspire to be future vets. Lexie also has an interest in environmental science. Vice President Devani Creduer, Shannon Fleming, and Kylie Derks are all science lovers who want to go into the medical field. Devani is hoping to become a future air force paramedic. Kylie wants to be a neo-natal nurse, and Shannon aspires to be a cardiovascular surgeon. Also in this region are future engineers Parliamentarian Sam Ronkartz, Junior lost camp coordinator Katie Murphy, , and Austin Gaspard. Katie has an interest in environmental engineering. Austin loves technology, and wants to be an electrical engineer.
Region three is home to the other seven members. Regional representative Jordan Guidry is a technology lover and wants to be a vet. He will work with the members in the region and inspire them to promote SET. Also a technology lover, is Michael Mancuso. He aspires to be a videogame programmer when older. This region is also home to many engineers. Brianna Dinwiddie loves to sew, and to do engineering projects. Jana King, president and senior lost camp coordinator, has loved playing with robots for years. When she grows up, she wants to become a sociologist. Ashley Reddicks, reporter, also loves engineering. She plans on exploring the unknown as an aerospace engineer. Leah Alday and Zachary Dupuis, secretary, are the resident mad scientists. In her spare time, Leah loves to write and aspires to be a vet. Zachary on the other hand, likes to photograph things and wants to work in economics.
This year’s board is full of fresh new talent. There are many different interests being pursued on the board. Although members all may be different, they will be working as one to accomplish their SET goals. Written by Ashley Reddicks, Reporter.
