Do you know what a forester does? If you do not know, then you can probably ask a 4-H’er who participated in the Forestry 101 Clover College. These 4-H’ers gained hands-on experience with using ropes and zip lines for maneuvering up and around trees. In addition, 4-H’ers learned about tree health and learned to identify tree species.
As a result of participating in this Clover College, students indicated the following on the evaluation:
93% Understand career opportunities in the field of Forestry.
87% Will recruit new members or encourage current members to re-enroll.
87% Will assist younger members in a club or project work.
Now all the 4-H’ers who participated in Forestry 101 have all the tools to prepare for 4-H University Forestry Contest or a career in forestry!
