Secretary/Treasurer
Cassidy Sonnier
There are just two things you need to know about me: my name is Cassidy Sonnier, and 4-H is my life. I have been in 4-H for seven years, a member of the Calcasieu Parish Jr. Leaders Club for the past four; I served as Reporter in ’10 and President in ’11. I also served as the reporter of the original State Citizenship Board two years ago. This year I was privileged enough to have been elected as the Southwest Regional Representative on the Executive Board. 4-H has been the most rewarding experience of my life. I have participated in countless leadership and citizenship activities over the years, including competing at 4-H U and being a counselor at various 4-H camps. I have carried a great responsibility on a local, regional, and state level, and acquired invaluable leadership skills. I want to stay as involved in 4-H as I possibly I can, which is why I am applying to be part of the State Executive Board for a second year. With my prior experiences, I would make a wonderful attribute to the Executive Board. I am hard-working, dedicated to 4-H, and have remarkable leadership skills. As part of the Executive Board, I want to help unify parishes across Louisiana, and bring back ideas, activities, and experience to my own parish.
Ariel Bergeron
Since joining 4-H in my 4th grade year, I have experienced so many opportunities, achievements, friendships and memories. When I was younger I thought 4-H was mainly about livestock and cookeries, but I was mistaken. In the earlier years in 4-H I did not realize the path that I was traveling upon. Therefore in my later years of 4-H I realized that 4-H has many positions such as governmental and leadership roles. This includes being entrusted with many different positions within my school, parish and state level. Through these positions I was required to have responsibility and leadership skills which has formed me into the person I am today. I feel that the most influential position that I withheld is the Vice President of the Food and Fitness State Board. With this position I experienced many hands on roles which I involved me to work with adults and get their perspectives on activities. I find that every child should have that experience in order to learn to work efficiently and to receive mature insight on the matter. Through being in this club I have learn that this club is a life building experience in shaping your purpose within life. Therefore, my goal with being in this club is to introduce that 4-H is more than just livestock and cookeries, but it is a life changing experience. Emily Boswell
Hello all! My name is Emily Boswell. I'm 14 years old from Allen Parish and 4-H is my thing! Along with 4-H, I am a part of: Family, Career, and Community Leader of America, Fellowship of Christian Students, Year Book Staff, Student Media, and my Church Youth Group. Though I have only been in 4-H for three years, I have definitely been working hard to improve my club, my community, my country, and my world in every aspect of my membership. Two of those three years I was elected Vice President of my area. With this office came Chairman of programs and community service. I created and conducted community service projects for the monthly meetings and also presented educational programs. My second year of 4-H I became an Allen Parish Junior Leader and my whole world was altered. I better understood 4-H and I learned what it meant to "Make the best, better". I volunteer regularly at parish events and conduct workshops. I was a cheerleader for 2 years, but I decided not to try out again because I want to give 4-H and the Executive Board my everything! Recently, I was elected President of my Junior Leader Club. I came to JLC 2011 and had a blast while meeting people from all over the state! I absolutely love to talk, laugh, and overall have a good time. I generally look for the positive in things because it is always there and I love to have a smile on my face! I was a counselor at the Central Region Challenge Camp and it touched my heart. I am also going to counsel at 4-H camp this summer. Last year was my first year to attend 4-H University, I came as a voting delegate and I also won the educational trip to Chattanooga, Tennessee. My patience when working with others, positivity, creativity, efficiency, dedication, and passion for 4-H would make me an outstanding Executive Board member. 4-H is something that I will be involved in forever. It has made me the person I am today and I only hope to improve myself and better the 4-H organization so that the future generations can make an impact on themselves and the world.
