Austin Bordelon
I joined 4-H when I was nine years old after hearing my neighbors tell their 4-H stories. Eight years later, I have my own 4-H story. I have organized public speaking workshops in my parish which have developed into leadership tracks at the Junior Leadership Conference. I have written speeches for parish competitions and have progressed to 4-H University and the State Ambassador Commodity Illustrated Talk Contest. I began as treasurer of my elementary school 4-H Club and later became the Avoyelles Parish Executive 4-H President, 2011 Central Regional Representative to the State 4-H Executive Committee, and a 2011 National 4-H Conference Delegate. I have also served as an officer in my school’s Beta Club, Student Council, and Fellowship of Christian Students. Through my metamorphosis in 4-H, I have grown and experienced more than any student in Louisiana could dream of, which I believe is a goal of 4-H. My mission is to be a 4-H advocate and encourage youth to become active in 4-H and create their own 4-H story. By serving on the Louisiana State 4-H Executive Committee, I believe I can lead Louisiana 4-H into the future and will be a great asset to an amazing team.
Robert Fusilier
Hi, I’m Robert Fusilier, and I have been a member of 4-H for the past nine years. Over these nine years, I have become increasingly involved with the 4-H program on both a local and state level. My desire to participate in 4-H has led me to seek out many different leadership roles. Locally, I have served as president of my school’s 4-H club and both vice president and service learning chairman of my parish’s Junior Leader Club. I have also recently become more involved in 4-H on the state level. Two years ago, I was fortunate enough to serve as a member of the state SET Board. After serving one term on the SET Board, I ran for Regional Representative, and was elected to the Executive Board where I was able to become more deeply involved on the state level. These leadership positions have shown me that there are many ways that I can improve the 4-H experience for both myself and others. 4-H is a great program that has provided me with endless opportunities. There is nothing that I would like more than to be able to give back to this program that has given me so much!
