Channing LaLande

Hello, my name is Channing “Chan” LaLande and I am running for State 4-H Historian/Reporter and Southwest Regional Representative. I am 16 years old and I live in Creole, Louisiana, which is in Cameron Parish. My parents are Lee and DeLisa LaLande. I attend South Cameron High School where I am active in many clubs, such as 4-H, FFA FBLA, Sr. Beta, National Honor Society, Science Fair, and Sports. I am our 2010-2011 Junior Class President and I plan on running again next year. I have been active in 4-H since I was in 4th grade. I have been showing livestock ever since my 4th grade year, with the exception of one year because of Hurricane Rita. I showed pigs from 2004 to 2008 and I have showed Braford cattle since 2008.I have even attended the trip to Louisville, KY to show my cows. I’ve also attended many 4-H camps where I have been a camper and a counselor. I have won many trips in 4-H, such as the 4-H Congress Trip to Atlanta, Ga and the YLC Trip to Washington, D.C. Through all of these experiences, I have learned many life lessons. A couple of those are: responsibility, perseverance, dedication, and that know matter what life throws at you, always get up and keep going. So through learning these lessons and through all my 4-H involvement, I think that I am qualified for these state offices.

 Lillie Minion

My name is Lillie Minion and I am a sophomore at Evans High School. I have been in 4H since the 4th grade and I have been participating in all the activities I can. I am now extending my reach in 4H. I have now decided that I want to expand my areas in 4H. Growing up through the years in 4H I have become more active and this has opened many new doors for me. I’m the only person in my school who is this involved in 4H. I want to be able to go farther in 4H that way I can bring back the new things I learn to my 4H club and improve it. I think I am qualified to be an Executive Committee Officer/Regional Representative for the 2011-2012 year because I am a responsible leader and I would love to improve my leadership skills and I am a great Representative. I participate in all my 4H activities and always strive to do my best. When it comes down to being outgoing and hardworking, I think I qualify with flying colors. I am not afraid to speak and share my ideas and I love learning new things and interacting with new people. I have been told that I am an excellent candidate and I would love to represent my region, and share ideas.

Xavier Bell

I am Xavier Bell, a member of Concordia 4-H. My 4-H history consists of 4th grade, 5th grade, and high school 4-H. During my 4th grade year I was an active member, discovering what 4-H was all about. While I was in the 5th grade, I was the service learning chairman. As the service learning chairman, I conducted two major projects: a can food drive and a magazine drive. The purpose of the can food drive was to help those families that were in need of food. the purpose of the magazine drive was to recycle magazines from their homes or some even bought them. I think I am qualified to be an Executive Committee Officer or Regional Representative because I am diligent because I complete task on time, work well with my peers and authority, and I am honest because I have integrity. As an Executive Committee Officer or Regional Representative, I would implement ideas that would make 4-H in Louisiana fun and exciting while giving those of us love 4-H opportunities and experiences that would help us in the future.
