4-H Members Build Citizenship Skills

4-H members from across the state will be making LA Connections. This new and exciting camp is a 2-day experience conducted at Camp Grant Walker in Pollock and is designed by youth for youth grades 7th-9th.

Take a road trip across Louisiana and learn about our culture, government, and people! You will get the opportunity to explore our unique culture playing musical games with Louisiana’s very own music. Some of Louisiana’s famous paintings will be introduced, and you will have a chance to include your own style into Louisiana by participating in a recreational painting session. The importance of Louisiana in WWII will be discussed where you will participate in a mock WWII maneuver, and you will get a closer look at how our government works. Finally, leave your mark on our wonderful state by planting trees around Camp Grant Walker that will continue to grow for many years to come!

A LA Connections t-shirt is provided with registration. Youth will want to bring weather appropriate casual comfortable clothing and footwear; sleepwear; pillow; bed linens (or sleeping bag); bath towels/cloths; toilet articles; and personal grooming aids; any special snacks/drinks.
