National 4-H Volunteer Initiative ExpandsThrough $1.5 Million Monsanto Donation
National 4-H Council has received a $1.5 million award from the Monsanto Company to drive the expansion of the National 4-H Volunteer Initiative. This new grant will fuel the expansion of vital volunteer training programs and fund the development of new volunteer recruitment and retention strategies. This announcement also launches a new national call for 4-H volunteers to lend their time in order to further positive youth development nationwide.
LCES PS-23 Volunteer Policy
Youth and adult volunteers play a critical role to support expanding the outreach capabilities in all LCES programming areas, including 4-H, Agriculture and Natural Resources and Family and Consumer Sciences. To help facilitate a better understanding of working with LCES volunteers, a Volunteer Policy (LCES PS-23) has been developed with input from agents, specialists and our human resource management office to provide guidance as well as direction in working with and managing volunteers.

Volunteer Leader Association hosts 2008 Southern Region Volunteer Forum
This year, 12 committees, comprised of over 40 individuals helped plan and implement a wonderful volunteer forum that took place at the Rock Eagle 4-H Center in Eatonton, Georgia. Louisiana was the host state and the theme was “4-H - A Taste for All.”
