4-H and FFA members from across Louisiana participated in the 71st annual LSU AgCenter Livestock Show Feb. 11-18, 2006.
 | | The competitors qualified for the 2006 LSU AgCenter Livestock Show by winning awards at parish and district shows across Louisiana, and, in all, more than 3,000 young people came to Gonzales to compete with 5,300 animals. |
|
 | | The annual event determines the state champion animals in various breeds of beef and dairy cattle, goats, hogs, poultry and sheep. But officials point out the show is about much more than the animals. They say it's about the outstanding young people who show the pride and dedication it takes to raise livestock and show those animals in competition. The youngsters also say that while it involves a lot of work, it’s fun, too. |
