USS KIDD Veterans Memorial – 305 South River Road, Baton Rouge, La.
February 15-16, 2013
Come climb aboard the USS Kidd for an overnight experience for the whole family! The USS Kidd is a World War II destroyer that is docked in downtown Baton Rouge. On Friday, you and your family will take part in an overnight stay aboard the ship and tour the destroyer. This stay will conclude on Saturday with a museum tour.
This is a family event. The camp is open to all military youth who are five years to 18 years old. Each child must be accompanied by an adult who is responsible for him or her. All adults staying on the ship will have to complete a mandatory volunteer screening and training. Once an adult registers for an event, he or she will receive more information on the screening and training.
Registration for the event includes the overnight stay and tour of the USS Kidd, t-shirt, dinner Friday night and breakfast Saturday morning. The cost is $10 per youth and $5 per adult. Checks can be made payable to the LSU AgCenter and should be sent in with your application packet.
All youth and adults should fill out the attached forms and return them by January 27, 2013. Registrations received after this date will not be guaranteed a spot at the camp, a t-shirt or other amenities. Once your registration is received, it will be confirmed with an email. If you have any questions, please contact Christina Lawson by email or phone at 225-578-2196.
