On Monday, March 1, 2010, Congressman Rodney Alexander visited with staff and youth in the Louisiana 4-H Museum during the Avoyelles Parish 4-H Junior Leader Club meeting in Mansura, La. The Congressman was in Mansura for a meeting with constituents concerned about the status of levee accreditation inspections and the possible re-drawing of flood zones.
After addressing the assembled group, Congressman Alexander was given a tour of the Louisiana 4-H Museum by Rose Anne St. Romain, the museum coordinator. He was pleased to see that all parishes are represented in the Louisiana 4-H Hall of Fame exhibit. He was also engaged by the different types of exhibit areas and by the use of multi-media kiosks, a 3-D miniature diorama, a colorful painted mural and displays of artifacts and photos.
Congressman Alexander also met with Avoyelles Parish 4-H staff and Junior Leaders during a club meeting. A former 4-H'er from Jackson Parish, he told them about his 4-H work in construction and woodworking projects. He encouraged the youth to work on their 4-H projects to the best of their abilities.
