Tax Exempt Status

The majority of funds donated to the Louisiana 4-H Foundation are owned and managed by the LSU Foundation for the benefit of 4-H in Louisiana.  The LSU Foundation, chartered in 1960, is classified by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)3 charitable organization. As such, donations to the LSU Foundation are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.  The LSU Foundation is eligible to receive donations from Donor Advised Funds.

The Louisiana 4-H Foundation was chartered in 1997 and is also classified by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)3 charitable organization.  Donations that are received in the 4-H Foundation's private accounts (non-LSU Foundation) are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.  The Louisiana 4-H Foundation is eligible to receive donations from Donor Advised Funds.
