LSU AgCenter Tangipahoa Parish, 305 East Oak St, Amite, LA 70422

The course includes 10 three-hour lectures on all aspects of beef production. It is a commodity-specific program to enhance the profitability of beef producers by equipping them with important information on all aspects of beef production. The program will be provided statewide in various multi-parish areas. Course dates begin August 11, 2015 every Tuesday through October 13, 2015, 6-9pm.

Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) and Good Handling Practices (GHPs) Workshops

This workshop will focus on "Implementation of GAPs and GHPs" and is only open to those producers and agents, who attended the LSU AgCenter Series I GAPs/GHPs workshops that were held in February, 2015. In the first workshop we discussed methods to assess food safety risks. In the series II workshops we will cover the basic concepts of GAPs/GHPs and work in groups to develop your individual farm food safety plan.
