Salvinia control efforts helped and hurt by severe winter

(Video 08/10/18) The severe cold from last winter drastically reduced giant salvinia, an invasive weed from South America, in Louisiana waterways. Unfortunately, it also reduced the population of giant salvinia weevils, which are a biological control for the weed. LSU AgCenter correspondent Craig Gautreaux has this report from the Atchafalaya Basin.
