"Let’s Get the Garden in Shape!" was the theme of the garden activity at the Valencia Park Stoner Hill Community Garden in Shreveport, LA on Saturday, December 10th. The newly remodeled center is scheduled to reopen this summer and there are many activities underway. One of the programs includes establishing a community garden. As a community initiative, with a brisk temperature of 32 degrees at sunrise, numerous volunteer from several organizations attended and participated in the cleanup efforts to prepare for Spring planting. Spearheaded by Grace Peterson, LSU AgCenter Associate Extension Agent (SNAP-Ed/Horticulture) and Cookie Coleman, LSU AgCenter, Nutrition Educator, the event was a huge success!
