Cruisin' With 4-H
Show your commitment to the largest youth development organization in Louisiana with a 4-H License Plate.
The 4-H plate costs $25 per year in addition to regular registration fees. Of that amount, $15 goes to the Louisiana 4-H Foundation and $10 to the 4-H Foundation in the parish where the plate is registered. Proceeds help fund various 4-H educational programs throughout the state each year.
You may apply for a 4-H plate in person or by mail. In-person is available only at the state headquarters of the Office of Motor Vehicles in Baton Rouge at 7979 Independence Blvd. But, the entire process takes less than 15 minutes!

Whether in person or by mail:
1. Submit a photocopy of your vehicle registration certificate, proof of insurance and a brief note stating that you are applying for the 4-H license plate.
2. Contact the Special & Dealer Plate unit of the Office of Motor Vehicles for fees. Have your current licence plate number available. The office will then calculate the charges. Call 225-925-6371 or 1-877-368-5463. Or, visit their Web site at www.expresslane.org for the calculation. Please note: credit will be given on the unused portion of your current plate. Automobiles, trucks and motor homes are issued two-year validation stickers.

The 2008 Louisiana 4-H Foundation's Annual Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, April 4, 2008 at the Tamahka Trails Golf Course in Marksville, Louisiana.

Former 4-H Foundation Executive Director Gets Appointed to Governor's Office
Governor-Elect, Bobby Jindal announced that Trey Williams will serve as the Communications Director for the Governor's Office. Williams formerly served as the Communications Director for Jindal's Congressional office. Williams was previously communications director for Jindal's 2003 gubernational race, executive director of the Louisiana 4-H Foundation, and has also served as deputy press secretary for Governor Mike Foster. Williams also served as press secretary for Governor Foster's re-election campaign, in addition to serving on Congressman Jim McCrery's staff. Williams first joined Jindal at the U.S. Department of Health and Hospitals where he served as a special assistant to Jindal. Williams has a degree in Journalism from Louisiana Tech University and a masters in mass communications from LSU. Williams was born and raised in Minden, has a wife, Anne, and one child.

Camp Grant Walker Expansion Project
The Foundation has acquired 30.4 acres of land located adjacent to Grant Walker Educational Center in Pollock, LA. The new property will double the size of the existing camp facility and will provide more opportunities for 4-H campers, such as environmental education classes, shooting sports, and fishing. |
