Pointe Coupee Parish garden helps improve youth nutrition

TWILA TV's AJ Sabine visits a school where kids are planting gardens and teachers are using them for education. What's different about this story is that it's happening in Pointe Coupee Parish. Why is that significant? Well, Louisiana has the worst nutrition in the country. Pointe Coupee Parish has the worst nutrition in the state.

The Junior Master Gardener program is a great way to teach youth valuable lessons in nutrition, science and even math. If you are interested in starting a school or youth garden in your area, contact your local Extension office.
