• Evaluate yield potential and other agronomic traits in statewide variety performance trials for corn, grain sorghum, wheat, and oats.
• Statewide coordinator for corn and grain sorghum hybrid testing programs.
• Determine the effects of cultural practices such as row spacing, plant population, and hybrid on yield performance of corn, grain sorghum, and wheat.
• Determine the influence of irrigation and the interaction of irrigation with other cultural practices on corn yield and aflatoxin contamination of grain.
• Evaluate ways to improve nitrogen fertilizer efficiency on Mississippi River alluvial soils and upland soils on the Macon Ridge.
